Leading Virtual Teams Northern LA PMI Presentation

Wright1 is pleased to share that our very own Founder, Shelly Wright, will be speaking tomorrow, September 2, at the Northern LA County PMI Dinner Meeting.

Topic: Equipping Project Managers to Lead Virtual Teams

Shelly_Wright-WebShelly Wright will lead project managers through an interactive workshop to equip them with valuable techniques for managing virtual teams through complex project scenarios. At the end of the session, attendees will walk away with the knowledge and confidence necessary to effectively lead virtual project teams through virtual communication challenges into project communication success!

Many of us already manage various types of virtual project teams; from projects that have geographically dispersed project team members, to those in which the majority of team members telecommute. This growing influx of virtual project teams to meet the needs of the global market place is making it more challenging to achieve success than with co-located or face-to-face teams.

Virtual teams struggle with managing conflict, making decisions, expressing opinions, generating solutions, time zones, language barriers, aka the project communication elements. Project communication is one of the most critical project success factors for virtual project managers. In fact, per PMI’s 2013 Pulse of the Profession® report, one out of five projects is unsuccessful due to ineffective communications.

You will not want to miss your opportunity to join in the fun and see some Wright1 templates in action…
