The 2015 SoTec’s Inspirational Award Goes to…

Ms. Shelly Wright, Wright1 founder, was awarded the SoTec Inspirational Award during the 2015 Southland Technology Conference (SoTec) on Oct 23, 2015. The SoTec Inspirational Award is conferred upon technology professionals who distinguished themselves for inspiring other technology professionals through admirable work and giving back to the community.

Ms. Wright brings her passion for technology, SoTec scan Inspirational Awardeducation, and helping others to Children’s Defense Alliance (CDA) a division of Children’s Rescue Alliance (a 501c-3 non-profit) where Ms. Wright aided CDA in their donation outreach, marketing, social media activities, and developing an American child trafficking awareness and prevention curriculum suitable for multiple grade levels. Ms. Wright is also leading Wright1′s pro bono development of CDA’s online educational platform. This online university platform will enable millions of children, parents,  educators, and counselors the ability to access child trafficking prevention, awareness, and education classes.

Ms. Wright is also a multiple year volunteer with the Palos Verdes’ Young Entrepreneur’s Academy (a 501c-3 non-profit) a year long program that transforms middle and high school students into real, confident entrepreneurs with legal, fully formed companies. Ms. Wright mentors students interested in forming a technology based company on critical business success factors such as; flushing out the business idea, writing business plans, conducting market research, how to pitch their plans to a panel of investors, and the first 90 days of launching and running their own companies or social movements.
